Students rarely struggle in foodservice management or community rotations. However, clinical rotation can be challenging for some interns. At the request of some preceptors, effective with the class admitted for January 2014, the program has initiated an assignment to aid interns in reviewing clinical material and increasing their competence and success in the clinical rotation. At least five weeks prior to orientation in Oklahoma City, the IP director will send out the assignment that is expected to take 40 – 80 hours to complete. Students should finish it prior to arrival for orientation in Oklahoma City and may not be allowed to begin rotations until it is satisfactorily completed. There will be a test over the material during orientation week.
