Academic resources
The mission of the University of Oklahoma is to provide the best possible educational experience for our students through excellence in teaching, research and creative activity, and service to the state and society.
The DI director and other faculty of the Department of Nutritional Sciences are available to provide tutoring if indicated and requested by the intern during the program. It is the goal of the OUHC DI to identify students who may have difficulty or lack skills required for one or more of the rotations. To address this potential need, the program has the following policies:
-
To provide a review for the Final Competency Exam and the Registered Dietitian Board Exam, all interns must purchase eatrightPREP, the review material from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Interns will be assigned to complete practice questions and practice exams in eatrightPREP throughout the internship program and before the Final Competency Exam. A full schedule is reviewed further in this document.
-
All interns will be given a competency exam during orientation week; students who score < 70% will study areas of weakness and coordinate with the DI director to take the exam again within the following 1-2 weeks.
-
Directly before the elective rotations, interns will take another simulated practice exam. Those who score < 70% must take an additional exam and may be assigned additional study material.
